A leading Tier One Civil Engineering contractor is looking to add to their Utilities division with the addition of a Site Engineer to the team in the North London M25 area.
This particular project is a Highways scheme, and we are looking for CIS paid Engineers to be contracted to mid 2025. There is the opportunity to have your contract extended should you be a good addition to the team.
The Utilities Engineer will report to the respective Section Engineer/manager and be responsible for all aspects of setting out on-site. The Site Engineer's tasks will include, but are not limited to:
1. Setting and surveying out on-site by various methods (GPS/EDM/Total Station etc.) for utilities.
2. Providing watching brief supervision for high-risk activities adjacent to utilities.
3. Providing handover information onsite for as-built and existing utilities to site operatives and supervisors.
4. Working as part of a team and assisting all team members as required, while also being able to undertake site duties individually or seek assistance when necessary.
5. Completing a daily diary of works being undertaken on-site with accurate and comprehensive details.
6. Completing check sheets for quality standards, in accordance with ITPs.
7. Assisting or undertaking safety inspections and workplace inspections.
8. Raising and issuing permits as required.
9. Undertaking CAT & Genny surveys prior to excavation works commencing.
10. Attending site meetings in relation to programme/safety/working areas.
11. Maintaining good communication skills with team/sub-contractors/general public/Client.
12. Being able to undertake site surveys and produce sketches of survey work/construction sequences.
Training/Competency Requirements:
1. CSCS card relevant to appointment.
2. SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
3. CAT & Genny trained (Mandatory).
4. 1st Aid (optional).
5. Safety Critical Medical (optional).
6. Laptop (optional).
7. AutoCAD (optional).
