International Air Quality Director
Logika Group
Role Location
We have offices in London, Warrington, Bristol, Brighton and Brussels. However, recognising the nature of the work and the focus on the market outside of Europe, we can be flexible on location.
The Company
Four sister companies - Air Quality Consultants Ltd, Noise Consultants Ltd, Logika Consultants Ltd and Logika Europe Srl – together form the Logika Group. We are a rapidly growing company comprising nearly 90 environmental experts based in the UK and continental Europe, with the four companies managed by a single senior leadership team. We see flexibility and collaboration as essential to our continued success and we manage the Group of companies as if a single entity.
Air Quality Consultants Ltd was established more than 30 years ago and has become the leading independent air quality and climate change practice in the UK. The company provides specialist services to developers, industry, local authorities and central Government, both within the UK and internationally. In 2020, we established an Environmental Policy and Economics Practice that works horizontally across the group. This part of our business provides high quality policy advice, strategic insight, scientific, policy and economic analysis in a range of environmental policy areas including air quality.
Whilst historically the main focus of our work has been in the UK, we have worked with a number of governments around the world to support them with the development and implementation of their air quality management regimes including sector specific controls. In recent years, this international work has expanded to include the delivery of significant air quality and emissions related contracts for major development banks, including the Asian Development Bank and World Bank, the UN and the European Commission. Examples of our successfully delivered international projects can be found on our website.
We operate at the forefront of the development, implementation and assessment of air quality actions, for international bodies, governments, businesses, and NGOs. We provide technical, scientific, and socio-economic advice, based on objective, impartial and evidence-based analysis.
The Role
The team has established positions on a broad range of framework contracts with the European Commission and UK Government in relation to air quality and secured work with a wide range of clients in the UK, Europe, North America and across Asia. We are now looking for a new addition to help us accelerate our growth in the international air quality market, with a particular focus on growth outside the EU. This would be a senior level role tasked with building on our existing portfolio and skillsets to target further work for existing clients such as the UN, World Bank, ADB and various national governments as well as to expand our offering for a wider range of clients and geographies. The role will report directly to the Directors of the Air Quality and Policy teams.
This is an exceptional opportunity at an exciting time both for our business and for international air quality policy. With us, you will be involved in development and implementation of a strategy for growth in our international air quality portfolio, linking through to developing climate change mitigation strategies, and play a key role in the delivery of such work. The role will entail close working with the directors of the air quality and policy parts of the Group as well as other senior staff in the business.

* Postgraduate qualification in air quality, environmental science, economics, law or policy with a minimum of 10 years’ experience projects related to air quality.

* Knowledge and experience of delivery for key funders for international air quality work such as the UN, World Bank, ADB, C40, GIZ, relevant national governments, NGOs etc.
* Extensive experience identifying, securing and delivering air quality consultancy projects.
* Broad network of air quality relevant contacts in both the private and public sectors including key partners and networks.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to write clear and concise reports in English.
Desirable:
* Understanding of the development of air quality and emissions policy including the supporting evidence base such as emissions inventories and modelling outputs and methods for assessing the health, economic and environmental impacts of government action.
* Experience and understanding of international climate mitigation frameworks and agreements.
* Familiarity with national and international sources of government and business statistics and ability interpret and analyse such data.
* Experience of air quality analysis within a consultancy, government, research agency/think tank, NGO or private sector / industry organisation.
