Position: Moulding Production Technician - Nights (Onsite)
Location: Belliver Way, Plymouth, PL6 7B
Hours: 11:00 PM - 11:00 AM (3 days on, 3 days off shift pattern)
About the Role:
My client is seeking a Moulding Production Technician to join their dynamic team at their Plymouth site. This role is key to producing plastic components, including Vacutainer Tubes & Caps, using advanced injection moulding machines. The position is ideal for someone with an engineering background, with injection moulding experience considered a plus (but not mandatory for the right candidate). This is a continuous night shift role, offering opportunities to work in a fast-paced, innovative manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operate injection moulding machines to produce high-quality plastic components.
2. Troubleshoot machine or process issues using root cause analysis and technical fault finding (Mechanical & Electrical).
3. Perform routine planned maintenance (Weekly, Monthly, and Semi-Annual).
4. Support the PM Technician with annual maintenance tasks.
5. Work safely, adhering to health and safety regulations and internal procedures.
6. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., 5S, Gemba, Kaizen, TIMWOODS).
7. Collaborate effectively with Operators, Quality Technicians, Engineers, and Shift Leaders.
8. Document production data and maintain records via SAP.
9. Conduct regular inspections of equipment and materials to ensure regulatory compliance.
10. Maintain a clean and organised work area.
About You:
Essential: Level 3 qualification in an engineering discipline.
Experience in a technical role within a manufacturing environment.
Desirable: Injection moulding experience (not mandatory).
Strong fault-finding skills on mechanical and/or electrical equipment.
Ability to follow work instructions and complete routine tasks effectively.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality standards.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and basic computer literacy.
