Graduate Quality Engineer – Sheet Metal & Fabrication

Salary: circa £30,000 - £38,000 (doe) + benefits
THE ROLE
As a Graduate Quality Engineer, you will be reporting into the Quality Manager and will have a strong problem-solving focus. You will work closely with the manufacturing team to identify non-conformance issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. You will also be a key member of the company’s continuous improvement program, tasked with reducing waste and scrap rates. Finally, you will be responsible for ensuring that new products are managed efficiently through the NPI process using APQP, PPAP, and FMEA where necessary.
THE PERSON
The successful candidate will be a Graduate Quality Engineer with a good understanding of sheet metal, fabrication, or machining. Candidates with six-sigma knowledge will have a distinct advantage as the business embarks on a major continuous improvement program. You should be fully conversant with fishbone/Ishikawa, 8D, and 5Y methodologies. Strong knowledge of NPI and familiarity with tools such as APQP, PPAP, and FMEA is essential. Ideally, you will have hands-on engineering experience to support the manufacturing operation.
