Job title: Temporary Works Designer

Hours of work: 37 hours per week
Applicants must have experience of the following:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural engineering or related field
2. Chartered or equivalent
3. Temporary works design certification (CITB or equivalent)
4. Strong understanding of BS 5975:2019 and temporary works design principles
5. Proficiency in relevant design and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD Pro and Tekla
6. Experience undertaking stress calculations, load assessments and structural analysis
7. Familiarity with CDM regulations
Role information:
1. Develop temporary works designs that comply with BS 5975:2019 while ensuring designs meet project requirements
2. Verify and approve temporary works designs prior to implementation to ensure they meet the necessary standards and safety regulations
3. Undertake stress calculations, structural analysis and load assessments to ensure temporary works are able to withstand all expected loads
4. Ensure designs comply with CDM regulations and other regulatory requirements
5. Ensure designs are checked by a third party prior to implementation
6. Develop inspection and test plans
7. Ensure checks are carried out post completion to ensure there are no issues with the temporary works
