The Company
Northern Light Microscopy is a fast-growing spin-out company from the University of Strathclyde that is bringing to market a range of accessible advanced microscopy platforms set to revolutionize the way life science discoveries are made.
Compared to currently commercially available bioimaging systems, Northern Light Microscopy’s advanced microscopy technology can combine more than 6 advanced imaging modes into fully enclosed benchtop systems, requiring no change of workflow from customers at a price point up to 8 times less than what is on the market today.
To capitalize on the already significant market traction and deploy systems that meet customer requirements within the next 6 months, we are looking for a software developer to join our small, dynamic, and inclusive team. This role is pivotal for company growth and integral in shaping future technology and product development.
The Role
The role requires someone with flexible skills in software, UI, and firmware development. Collaboration with the CTO and Engineering lead is expected to maintain and expand our microscope control UI and enable further functionality for our firmware. The successful candidate will take a leading role in delivering release-ready versions, fully supported by Northern Light Microscopy’s engineering and tech team. Additional workflows in refining and developing image processing pipelines will be targeted in collaboration with external partners and the full technology team. There is an expectation that the role will involve collaboration with non-experts, which aligns with our company’s team mentality and values where all expertise is required to achieve our goals.
