Job summary The Practice Development Nurse within the Gynaecology team is a proactive nursing leader, teacher and role model, who leads on the development of excellence in practice education and policy across the specialty. Prioritising and planning workload to include working in clinical practice to maintain professional clinical skills, knowledge, and competence and ensure effective understanding of the contemporary clinical practice context. Act as an expert professional resource for the multi-professional team supporting Gynaecology colleagues. The PDN will lead in the development and advancement of clinical practice, emphasising the implementation of evidence-based knowledge leading to safe care for our patients. Proactively seeking feedback on patient and public experience and act on recommendations as required. Ensure the highest standards of patient care (metrics/audits/research/ benchmarking data) are in place and reviewed accordingly. Facilitate the development of clear action plans to address any care deficiencies and ensure agreed actions are implemented and evaluated. The PDN will be a visible part of the team, working alongside clinical teams to ensure high standards are maintained.
