As a Management Accountant at Borne, you will play a critical role in assisting with the day-to-day financial tasks whilst driving financial performance and supporting strategic decision-making. You will work closely with the managing director and senior management team to analyse financial data, prepare forecasts and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
2. Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
3. Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
4. Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and liaise with external auditors.
5. Full responsibility for sales and purchase ledgers including but not limited to, raising sales invoices, credit control, entering purchase invoices and administering bank payments.
6. Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements.
7. Undertake monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
8. Liaise with external payroll provider and undertake monthly payroll journal postings.
9. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
10. Monitor projects and complete quarterly work in progress schedules.
11. Preparation and delivery of monthly board reports.
12. Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reports as required by management.
Qualifications:
1. Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, AAT) is preferred.
2. Proven experience in management accounting or a similar role, preferably in a small to medium-sized business essential. Experience of working in the marketing and agency sector desirable but not essential.
3. Proficiency in accounting software packages (Xero and Microsoft Excel).
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
