JOB DESCRIPTION What is the role? South Ayrshire Council is seeking two enthusiastic solicitors to join our Legal and Licensing service. We have two full time permanent posts to fill, one in the Litigation team and the other in the Property & Contracts team. You will be part of a team delivering a comprehensive and pro-active legal service for the Council, to include participation in any corporate strategy of the Council, responding to new requirements as a result of changes in legislation or in local government structure. Post A (Litigation Team) - The role will involve providing representation and advice in litigation matters including child protection – there will be a requirement to take part in an out of hours rota for emergency orders; permanence; adults with incapacity; adult support and protection; education matters including ASN tribunals; employment law; debt recovery and housing matters including ASBOs. Post B (Property & Contracts Team) - The role involves providing legal advice on a wide range of conveyancing and property law and assisting client services with project work; as well as regulatory matters such as Planning. The work style for these posts is: Litigation - Hybrid Workers The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly between home and the office and the frequency for attending the office may vary depending on the exigencies of the service.
