Some pupils may have multiple learning difficulties. All students that attend the school have a designated Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) which details their specific needs in terms of the care and support they will have access to. The pupils at the school can struggle to form string, healthy relationships and can present high levels of anxiety and challenging behaviour. What is involved: HLTA - Education and TrainingDelivering interventionsPlan and deliver individualised programmes of support for children to develop their emotional literacy, including:Awareness of own and other people's emotionsDevelopment of an increased range of emotional vocabularyManagement of stress, grief, anxiety, anger and conflictDevelopment of social interaction and friendship skillsPromotion of a realistic self-concept and good self-esteemCoping with significant life changes including loss and bereavementDeveloping Resilience skills What is required: SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant - HLTA - LeatherheadGCSE Maths and English qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent is essential.ELSA/THRIVE qualification desirable, if not already got must be willing to achieve in first 2 years in post.Level 5 qualification related to the subject area desirableMental health first aid training desirableThe Higher Level Teaching Assistant Diploma or equivalent Level 4 qualification, or demonstrate equivalent skill level.
