HLTA Blackburn (BB1) Full-time Start date: February 2025 £14.50 – £15.50 per hour A school within Blackburn (BB1), have approached Teaching Personnel to recruit a full time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support across Key Stages. The role will be to start from February 2025 and continue until the end of the academic year, with the view to continuing on a temp to perm basis. The school are keen to meet HLTAs and possible NQTs Face to Face to trial. There is an expectation that the role will involve delivering a number of lessons per week, and the rest will be spent supporting small groups. The behaviour in classes can be challenging due to the catchment area of the school, therefore the successful candidate will ideally have experience deal with challenging behaviour, however this is not essential. The school are keen to implement a consistent behaviour policy in order to keep all the children safe and stimulated in their learning environment. The school is currently graded GOOD by Ofsted and standards are high, particularly in core subjects and in behaviour. The Head teacher is inspirational and is keen to appoint a strong and committed practitioner who can come into school and hit the ground running without much support. The Deputy in school is the Year 5/6 class teacher and is keen to be part of the recruitment process as well. As a HLTA, your responsibilities will include: Assisting a range of pupils with catch-up learning Offering 1:1 support and intervention Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons Encouraging all children to succeed, regardless of their starting point Covering planned teacher absences All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
