Procurement Assistant Manager – Strategic Sourcing & Contracts
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (Based on experience)
We’re looking for a Procurement Assistant Manager to join a dynamic organisation and play a key role in managing sourcing processes, supplier relationships, and contract negotiations. If you have a strong background in procurement and want to make a tangible impact, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension.
What You’ll Be Doing:
1. Leading procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective and high-quality service delivery.
2. Managing sourcing processes, tenders, and contracts up to £25 million.
3. Negotiating commercial and contractual terms to drive positive outcomes.
4. Collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers to optimise procurement performance.
5. Monitoring supplier performance against SLAs and driving continuous improvements.
6. Advising stakeholders on procurement best practices and legal compliance.
7. Implementing innovative approaches to enhance procurement efficiency.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and contract management.
2. Strong knowledge of public sector procurement law and category management.
3. Ability to negotiate and manage high-value contracts effectively.
4. Excellent stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
5. MCIPS qualification (or working towards it) is a plus.
