Summary
As an Apprentice Site Supervisor, you will assist the Site Manager in the day to day management of construction projects to meet customer specification, programme and budget. You will be a valued member of the team and receive high quality mentoring from experienced colleagues and the opportunity to pursue academic qualifications.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
* Ensure safe working practices and procedures are fully implemented on site
* Manage the day to day delivery of a construction project
* Liaise with Site Management to ensure they are fully appraised of project progress and are notified of all financial, specification and time issues
* Ensure all materials delivered to site meet specification and production requirements
* Control waste management
* Ensure all additional work is identified and the Project and Commercial Managers are fully aware of all potential opportunities

Course contents
* Identify risk of activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours.
* Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of projects.
* Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for construction projects.
* Use effective management principles and be able to supervise construction workers.
* Understand overall plan for project and measure and record progress against plan.
* Assess and report on quality standards and assist in commissioning of finished construction projects.
* Understand financial and legal constraints and measure and record progress against budget.

* Construction Site Supervisor Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard qualification delivered on a day release basis with a local college to be confirmed
Requirements
Essential qualifications
A Level or equivalent in:
* 2 Subjects (grade D and above; or)
GCSE or equivalent in:
* 5 including English and Maths (grade 4)
BTEC or equivalent in:
* Construction/Civil Engineering extended diploma (grade Pass or above; or)
BTEC in:
* Any (grade Pass - with one years site exp)
