As Finance Officer you will deliver cost effective financial management, financial support and contract monitoring for revenue income across the property portfolio and present financial information to support informed decision making.The Property Business Support team is key to ensuring the division is operating to Property Council Plan priorities and is made up of staff specialising in project management, data management, business intelligence, finance, customer services, climate, and procurement.
What will you be doing
1. In the role you will prepare, assess and monitor tenant service charge and reserve funds, which will involve monitoring payments, calculating expenses and an end of year reconciliation and balancing charge calculation, advising the tenant, and collecting monies due.
2. You will monitor revenue and identify exceptions and also monitor grant funding spend, advising senior management of progress towards targets and KPI's.
3. A key part of the role will be to liaise with colleagues to monitor rent reviews and ensure implementation is made by the due date in order to contribute towards corporate income expectations. You will also monitor rental income, to ensure rent collection aligns with contractual tenant obligations under lease.
4. You will be processing receipts, fees and income and associated documentation ensuring all costs are recovered including recharges for managed contracts.
5. Liaising with colleagues you will prepare detailed project cost reports to support the development of quarterly monitors and department service planning.
What we need from you
6. It is essential that you are educated to degree level or have equivalent experience and will ideally be working towards a qualified Association of Accounting Technician, or have bookkeeping and accountancy experience.
7. We require you to have relevant knowledge and experience of working in an organisation that delivers a range of quality and cost-effective financial management and financial support services.
8. You will have previous experience within a property team, or in construction or a facilities management environment.
9. It is key that you have experience of preparing financial and budget information for budget holders.
10. We require you to have knowledge and experience of financial systems, with proven IT skills and experience of using computerised databases and monitoring systems.
11. It is essential that you have good interpersonal skills to establish a positive relationship with a wide variety of stakeholders.
