There are 14 million disabled people in the UK. Many face lifelong challenges with physical health, feelings of isolation and a lack of social integration.
The chronic lack of accessible sports means disabled people are twice as likely to be inactive as non-disabled people. This increases the risk of cancer, stroke and heart disease. In turn, disabled people are also more likely to suffer from isolation and depression.
At Disability Sports Coach, we are committed to addressing these inequalities through the power of sport. We:
* Run Community Clubs across London, bringing disabled people and families together each week with others to enjoy inclusive activities and meet new people
* Host free online exercise activities so disabled people can keep active and connected - wherever they are
* Deliver inclusive coaching sessions in schools and colleges so disabled children can join PE classes with their friends
* Train teachers, coaches and volunteers with the lifelong skills to confidently deliver adapted sports activities so that disabled people don’t feel excluded
We’re proud to reach over 5,000 disabled people and their families each year. But with 14 million disabled people in the UK, we know we have much more to do.
A gift in your Will can empower future generations of disabled people to enjoy active lives, without fear of exclusion and isolation. Will you leave a gift in your Will to Disability Sports Coach?
