Transport for London (TfL) Engineers are always looking forward. Join us in the Transport Systems – Vehicles Engineering team and, as well as ensuring legacy assets are maintained to safe and reliable standards, you’ll deliver new systems and solutions. This role is about connecting communities and creating opportunities for the 21st century and beyond.
We have opportunities for mechanical and electrical engineers within the Vehicles Engineering Team delivering work packages and technical solutions that ensure a safe and reliable experience for our customers. Working alongside experienced Rail and Surface Vehicles Engineers, you will contribute to improving all modes of transport across the TfL network through vehicle upgrades, optimisation, more efficient maintenance, safety initiatives, or new vehicle introduction. Ideally, you will have a grounding in the fundamentals of engineering and its practical application to industry. Railway experience is desirable but not essential.
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience
* Graduate in a relevant engineering degree (mechanical, electrical or similar) plus a period of initial professional development OR
* Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship and/or HND, with a number of years of subsequent experience.
* The ability to analyse data and produce well-written and presented reports.
* Building relationships with and influencing a wide range of stakeholders at all levels within and outside of the organisation.
