About The Role
Cornerstone Healthcare is looking for an experienced and passionate HR Assistant to join our award-winning team at Kitnocks House. Kitnocks House is a 63-bed service providing high quality care across 4 specialised units supporting residents with varying complex care as well as providing a comfortable and safe living environment. Our approach focuses on individualised care, considering the whole person and their unique challenges, rather than just the diagnosis. We are currently rated Overall Good with CQC.
We are looking for an HR Assistant to support the service with HR administration and employee related matters across the service. Working with the HR team, you will manage systems for keeping records and information up to date, processing and producing monthly metrics and produce and maintain accurate employee HR records.
What will you be doing?
1. Inputting absence details from return-to-work forms and fit notes, ensuring all information is passed to payroll.
2. Produce standards references for leavers when required.
3. Produce monthly HR metrics.
4. Induct all new starters.
5. Ensure leavers process is followed, including resignation acknowledgment letters.
6. Issue ID cards.
7. Ensure Buddy paperwork is issued and returned.
8. Issue probation period forms (1, 3, and 6 months) and ensure they are returned.
9. Work in conjunction with the HR Assistants, ensuring appropriate knowledge of the role to deal with day-to-day work priorities and can cover each other’s duties.
10. Produce letters (from templates) for all staff and any amendments to an employee’s terms and conditions of employment during the course of employment.
11. Produce HR staff files as per standard requirements and ensure that records are kept up to date and filed as per the agreed protocol.
12. Maintain and regularly update the HR database in line with any absence, contract changes made or new starters/leavers.
13. Keep excel spreadsheets updated, for example, Nurse PINS, staff audits.
14. Ensure reconciliations are done daily.
15. Support with project work when required.
16. Keep filing updated.
17. Attend weekly HR Meetings via Teams.
18. Be responsible for your own Health & Safety and promote safe working practice in the workplace.
19. In conjunction with the service, develop a positive public profile of the service ensuring good communication, and relationships, and that staff represent the service in a professional way.
20. Carry out any other appropriate duties as directed by the Head of HR.
What hours will you work?
Monday to Friday 09.00 to 17.00 (40 hours per week).
What experience do you need?
1. Minimum of Level 3 CIPD in HR (Essential).
2. Minimum of 12 months UK experience in an HR Assistant role or above.
3. Experience in Healthcare (Desirable).
4. A good standard of general education.
5. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
6. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
7. Ability to provide work to tight deadlines.
8. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
9. Microsoft Office / IT skills.

About Us
Cornerstone Healthcare provides specialist care for vulnerable people who present with challenging behaviours associated with complex neurodegenerative and mental health needs. Residents who live in our homes primarily have a neurological degenerative condition such as Dementia with an underlying mental health condition which makes them inappropriate candidates for dementia care homes or residential care homes for the elderly. We currently have 3 services based in Waterlooville, Curdridge, & Mytchett with 2 new services set to open in Bristol and Birmingham in 2025.
