Job Description
Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for an Electrical Charging GIS Analyst on an initial 6-month contract, on a hybrid basis.
Role Purpose
You will be analysing where the best locations are to place electric vehicle public chargers within local authorities. Reviewing over 50 datasets to find these best locations and providing quantitative data and maps to be used in tenders, working with our Sales and Bids team to showcase our data and skill sets. You will be involved with meeting local authorities and other external stakeholders to present our results and methodologies. You will support the delivery team in pre-construction activities relating to site selection.
Accountabilities
You will be responsible for analysing and selecting the best locations for electric vehicle public chargers within local authorities, and assisting with other design elements at the early stage of developing electric car charging sites. This includes, but is not limited to, the duties described below:
1. Site selection analysis
2. Pre-design configuration checks
3. Analysis of charger performance ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and laws governing business operations
4. Perform audit and surveillance duties on sites operated by partners and sub-contractors
5. Manage external relationships with suppliers and sub-contractors, ensuring high-quality output and value for money
6. Estimate costs of overheads, materials, labour, and equipment for use in tenders
7. Work closely with the Sales and Commercial teams to assist in tender bid preparation
Personal Qualities/Experience
Essential:
1. 3-5 years of GIS experience or similar (we have in-house GIS software)
2. Exceptional PC skills
3. BSc in STEM, Geography, or IT
4. Good knowledge and experience of Spatial Databases
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail
6. Able to manage multiple projects from initial concept through to final delivery
7. Able to work collaboratively across diverse teams
8. Team player with the ability to work collaboratively with individuals, clients, and sub-contractors
9. Adapts positively to changing business demands
10. A self-starter with good organisation skills
11. Good stakeholder management skills
12. Willingness to travel as required to meet clients and attend industry events
13. A driving licence and willingness to travel
