Healthcare Assistant

Responsibilities:
1. Personal Care: Provide assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and toileting as required.
2. Companionship: Engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.
3. Meal Preparation: Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding to ensure proper nutrition.
4. Medication Support: Remind and assist clients with medication administration following prescribed instructions.
5. Mobility Assistance: Help clients with mobility tasks, including transferring and using mobility aids.
6. Household Tasks: Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing for a safe living environment.
7. Transportation: Accompany clients to appointments and errands while ensuring their safety and comfort.
8. Health Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in clients' physical or mental condition to the appropriate personnel.
9. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of care provided in compliance with company policies.
10. Professional Development: Participate in training sessions to enhance caregiving skills.
Experience:
1. Compassionate Nature: Genuine desire to provide care and companionship.
2. Experience: Prior experience in healthcare or caregiving is beneficial; training will be provided.
3. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
4. Reliability: Punctuality, dependability, and a strong sense of responsibility are essential.
5. Flexibility: Willingness to work varied hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed.
6. Driving License: Possession of a valid driver's license preferred but not mandatory.
7. Education: Minimum GCSEs or equivalent; NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is advantageous.
8. Background Checks: Successful candidates must undergo an enhanced DBS check.
