We are seeking a Transport Control Tower Supervisor to oversee and manage the effective coordination and administration of multiple vehicle deliveries throughout the night. The successful candidate will have strong administrative and communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure, maintain operational efficiency, and implement cost-effective strategies while ensuring top-quality service. This role involves planning, coordinating, and controlling transport operations, focusing on operational excellence, cost management, and continuous improvement. IT literacy is essential, and ideally, candidates will hold a forklift licence to support day-to-day logistics operations. Key Responsibilities: 1. Coordination & Control of Vehicle Deliveries: Oversee the management of multiple vehicle deliveries, ensuring adherence to delivery schedules and operational deadlines. Coordinate with drivers, suppliers, and customers to resolve any delivery issues or delays. Ensure vehicles are dispatched in line with operational priorities and customer requirements. Maintain effective communication across all stakeholders to provide updates and resolve potential issues in real-time. Working closely with the warehouse team and any 3PL suppliers 2. Administrative Support & Documentation: Manage and maintain records of all transportation activities, including delivery schedules, routes, and costs. Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all necessary documentation, including delivery confirmations, vehicle logs, and invoices. Use transport management systems (TMS/ VIGO/ EDC) and other IT platforms to track deliveries, manage resources, and report on performance metrics. Produce regular OTD reports on delivery performance, cost analysis, and operational efficiency. 3. Planning & Implementation of Operational Policies: Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and standards to ensure efficiency and compliance with regulatory requirements. Monitor and adjust operational plans to meet business goals, service levels, and customer expectations. Continuously review and improve operational processes to enhance productivity and streamline operations. 4. Cost Management & Optimisation: Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising service quality or customer satisfaction. Work closely with finance and procurement teams to implement cost-saving initiatives and ensure budget compliance. Assess and recommend using technology or equipment to increase cost-efficiency and improve service levels. 5. Health & Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all transport operations comply with health and safety regulations and industry standards. Maintain awareness of any legislation or industry best practices changes and ensure these are implemented within the control tower. Promote a safe working environment by ensuring all operational activities align with company health and safety policies. 6. Forklift Operations (Desirable): Operate forklifts as needed to support transportation activities, including loading/unloading of vehicles, to support if/ where required (however, we can arrange full training) Ensure that warehouse operations are carried out safely and in line with workplace guidelines. Essential Skills and Qualifications: Administrative Skills: Strong organisational and administrative abilities with a keen eye for detail. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams. Coordination Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, ensuring that all deliveries are efficiently coordinated. IT Literate: Proficient in using transport management systems, Microsoft Office, and other digital platforms. Experience with fleet management software is advantageous. Planning & Problem-Solving: Ability to anticipate and resolve operational issues in a fast-paced environment. Strong planning and decision-making capabilities. Cost Management: Experience in monitoring and controlling costs while maintaining high service quality standards. Forklift Licence (Desirable): A valid forklift licence is preferred to assist with hands-on operational tasks. Experience: Previous experience in a transport control tower, logistics, or fleet management role is ideal. Additional Information: This role is based on a night shift pattern from Tuesday to Saturday (18:00 - 04:00). Competitive salary with shift allowance.
