Why This Role Matters The successful candidate will assist the Private Sales Specialist team with preparation of cataloguing and hilling, as well as Supporting the Private Sales Business Intelligence and the Private Sales Coordinator with administrative tasks. Furthermore, extensive research will form part of the role.
How You'll Make an Impact
* Research property including authenticity, bibliography, provenance and exhibition history in preparation for hilling sessions
* Carry out literature checks at external London libraries
* Assist the Private Sales Cataloguer and Head of Private Sales with valuations
* Write catalogue entries, where appropriate
* Handle and respond to client enquiries by telephone, email and letter
* Assist the Private Sales Coordinator, Cataloguer and Head of Private Sale with general administration
* Assist with private sale exhibitions; assist with lot cards and other install tasks
* Assist Private Sales team and Private Sale Business Intelligence with PowerPoint presentations and excel spreadsheets
* Provide other ad-hoc administration support to the Private Sale & Business Intelligence team as required
What you’ll bring to the team
* Undergraduate degree in any subject
* Interest/knowledge of Impressionist & Modern Art
* Must have strong organizational skills, a multi-tasker
* Excellent research skills and familiarity with London libraries
* Excellent communication skills (2 languages preferred), preferably German and/or French and/or Italian
* Very good interpersonal skills
* Good team worker
* Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel skills – Excel and PowerPoint are essential
* Attention to detail with strong accuracy skills and process analytical skills
* Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with diplomacy
