Facilities : The main hospital has access to a high-end ultrasound machine, digital radiography, dental radiography,
endoscopy/rhinoscopy/bronchoscopy, electrocautery, laparoscopy, tonometry, slit lamp, and more. Their biggest branch also has access to digital radiography including dental, and ultrasound, and a fully equipped lab. The hospital lab can run most things including T4, SDMA, Cortisol, Bile acids, Cpli/Fpli, Coags, urine sediments, etc, and we have access to the Imagyst for rapid haematology, and cytology interpretations if needed.
Team : The practice currently consists of 17 vets, 23 nurses, and 16 support staff.
They pride themselves on providing the best first-opinion veterinary care to patients, utilising their heavily experienced veterinary team in a multi-disciplinary approach. They are fortunate to have many certificate holders, these include Surgery, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, and Anaesthesia. They currently have vets working towards certificates in Surgery, Imaging, Internal Medicine, Endoscopy, and Dermatology
Role : The role is to replace one of their out-of-hours team who will soon be commencing an internship and will be based at their Hospital practice.
Hours : The position is for a permanent veterinary surgeon to work on their out-of-hours team working a rota of seven nights on followed by fourteen nights off. The team is responsible for the out-of-hours for the practice and neighbouring practice.
Shifts : The shifts are as follows and commence each Monday evening
1. Monday 6.30 pm to 7.00 pm Handover from day hospital vet
2. 7.00 pm to 8.00 am Out-of-hours service
3. 8.00 am to 8.45 am final calls to clients
4. 8.45 am to 9.15 am Handover to day hospital vet
5. Tuesday to Saturday morning follow the same shift patterns
6. Saturday 5.45 pm to 6.15 pm Handover from day hospital vet
7. 6.15 pm to 9.45 am Out of ours service
8. Sunday 9.45 am to 10.00 am Handover to day hospital vet
9. 5.45 pm to 6.15 pm Handover from day hospital vet
10. 6.15 pm to 8.00 am Out-of-hours service
11. They have a second on-call rota should you require assistance during the night

Salary: A competitive salary of £56,000-£65,000 p/a depending on experience.
