Head of Children’s Commissioning (Quality & Contracts)
Minimum 6-month interim contract
Location: North-West England, full-time hybrid, on average 2 days on site per week.
Rate: Up to £600 per day through FCSA Umbrella, Inside IR35
An exciting new interim opportunity has arisen within a Local Authority in North-West England for a Head of Children’s Commissioning (Quality & Contracts). You will report to the Assistant Director for Quality & Improvement and the key focus of this role will be the negotiation of contracts with residential providers and setting up a QA Framework for them.
Our client will be looking to set up interviews starting Thursday 5th, with a view to start as soon as possible after that.
About your duties as the Head of Service, Children’s Social Care:
1. Reviewing the high-cost contracts for Residential Providers and negotiating on them.
2. Setting up a QA Framework for external Residential Providers.
3. Providing strategic leadership to the multi-agency children’s safeguarding partnership, driving the delivery of high-quality safeguarding and quality assurance services to children and families in the Locality.
4. Providing strategic leadership on arrangements for statutory inspection, inspection events, and external challenge and scrutiny, including liaison with inspectors, partner agencies, and service users.
5. Reshaping the mentality of the staff and service into a view of improvement journey.
Your experience needed as the Head of Service, Children’s Social Care:
1. Proven track record within management roles in Children’s Social Care.
2. Proven track record of improving/transforming services within Children’s Social Care.
3. Strong understanding of the Children’s Commissioning Cycle and its relation to Residential Placements.
4. Awareness of the legislation and guidance relevant to the role and the implications that changes to legislation may have, including Inspection Regulations and what it means to be Inspection ready.
5. Ability to foster an open and trusting culture with the ability to lead change through others and inspire high levels of performance.
