Role Overview The Tissue Viability Clinical Nurse Specialist will provide specialist/evidence-based nursing services to our customers. This is an excellent opportunity for nurse with proven clinical expertise, leadership experience, and demonstrable background in Tissue Viability. Reporting to the Lead Nurse, the Tissue Viability CNS is an influential role and recognised as being an expert in advance complex wound therapies. You will provide leadership to TV Nurse, support initiatives to improve the services to our customers, and make sure there is complete adherence to clinical compliance and regulatory/governance requirements as relevant for your specialisation. What you’ll do: You’ll have the responsibility for supporting the tissue viability service- developing high quality, evidence based, wound care practice in the management of Inpatients and Outpatients with complex and / or chronic wounds in CH. You’ll devise and evaluate care plans for patients with compromised skin integrity based on the assessment process, with realistic nursing goals in consultation with patients, family and the multi-professional team. You’ll lead the development and facilitation of new procedures, techniques, protocols and policies for our tissue viability services. You’ll support the development of the Tissue Viability Nurse service and the tissue viability link nurse group across the organisation. As well as promote and develop education programs for nursing staff and other members of the multi professional team and participate in orientation of new staff. Develop and participate in the delivery of the tissue viability educational programme to health care personnel involved with wound care and skin care within the hospital. You’ll manage direct reports effectively, delegating appropriately, collaborating with other managers to maintain excellent standards and ensuring that standards are monitored regularly.
