Holland & Barrett is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to join our dynamic team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is integral to coordinating and overseeing a variety of projects within our Science & Wellness programme, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the agreed scope.
Role Summary:
As a Programme Manager, you will act as a central point of contact, managing stakeholders, mitigating risks, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects. You'll work collaboratively with business owners and be the independent conscience for the accountable Executive Owner and Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Key Accountabilities:
* Programme Management:
o Ensure the successful delivery of the programme/project, escalating issues and ensuring timely mitigating actions.
o Collaborate closely with initiative owners within the Science and Wellness department and Technical Programme Managers (TPM) to manage the delivery of savings and KPI measurement.
o Define and own the long-term integrated programme plan, milestones, outcomes, decisions, risks, and dependencies.
o Manage and communicate any proposed changes to scope, timelines, and/or cost, highlighting implications to relevant stakeholders.
o Manage communications with stakeholders at all levels of the business, including the Executive level.
o Identify and work with stakeholders to build bottom-up delivery plans for new areas of opportunity.
* Governance & Meetings:
o Drive and support the creation of Executive reporting and deep dive materials.
o Lead programme and project-level governance and reviews, including the Science and Wellness Pillar SteerCo, and associated working groups.
o Provide appropriate governance and reporting for programme meeting cadence.
o Design and deliver workshops, lead ad hoc meetings, and hold stakeholders accountable for plan delivery.
* People and Change Management:
o Ensure there is a change plan aligned to the overall delivery plan for the Science and Wellness department.
o Work with other pillar programme managers to ensure dependencies and cross-pillar delivery is managed successfully.
* Other Responsibilities:
o Provide programme management leadership and coaching to other junior managers and team members.
o Act as a connector to ensure collaborative working across projects, functions, finance, and technology.
o Develop and maintain a programme communications plan, harnessing Internal Communications team resources.
o Identify and manage any business change impacts of the programme and projects.
Location: Based in London, this role operates under a hybrid model with 2-3 days a week on-site, supporting flexibility and productivity.
The Person:
Experience:
* Strong Programme Manager / Senior Project Manager experience with a proven track record of successful business transformation.
* Experience in Retail, healthcare, or eCommerce is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
* Comfortable with high levels of ambiguity and change, and able to adjust strategies and approaches as necessary.
* Skilled in engaging with and managing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leadership, external partners, and team members.
* Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills.
* Proficient in programme and project management methodologies.
* Strong commercial acumen and excellent communication skills.
Educational Background:
* A Master's degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., life sciences, public health, healthcare management, or business administration).
* Certifications in project management (such as PMP or PRINCE2) and change management (e.g., Prosci Certified Change Practitioner) are advantageous
