University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust
Do you have a passion for Community Nursing? Are you interested in trying something new? No previous Community experience required.
Our team have told us what they need from their employer -- and we've listened. If you are looking for hours to fit around your family; we can tailor our offering to you. This could be working school hours, weekends only, condensed hours or maybe it's just keeping your interest in nursing by working one shift a week. All we ask for is that you provide the very best care to our Patients and work with our Teams to ensure patient safety and compliance. We have a clear exciting career development pathway with opportunities to progress to band 6 Deputy District Nurse posts which allow you to continue developing your clinical, leadership and theoretical skills in District Nursing Practice.
With any role within UHB, each post comes with the support of our Teams and Managers. This is extended by support from our School of Nursing, AHP's and Midwifery. The school offers exciting opportunities for career growth and development; our focus is providing a supportive environment as part of your continuing professional development. We want you to feel a sense of belonging, community, commitment and support.
Main duties of the job
The role involves delivering skilled and providing evidence-based care to patients within their home environment who can have very complex needs. Our District Nursing teams work closely with specialist nurses, GPs, Therapists and Social Work teams in providing and facilitating collaborative support and care to patients and their families and in preventing avoidable hospital admissions.
The individuals we are looking for will be highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative and have the ability to embrace the challenges of the changing and growing demands of the primary care setting. Previous community experience is not required as full training and support will be provided to the right candidates to enable you to develop as a community nurse.
The trust is able to offer an excellent preceptorship programme, along with our brand new local induction in community services alongside the allocation of a buddy mentor within the teams. You will need to be able to meet the needs of this service by being available to work flexibly between the hours of 07:00 to 23:00 hours on a rota basis over a 7 day period and be able to drive. We promote flexible working and will consider any hours of work to suit family work life balance.
We have full & part time posts available in the North (Chelmsley Wood), Central (Solihull) and Balsall Common (Rural).
