Job Description - Urgent Care Technician (Plymouth) (250307-50023020)
Purpose of Position: Performs as a member of the Urgent Care Team to assist Providers and staff nurses in providing care to Urgent Care patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Description
1. Participates as a frontline caregiver to patients in Urgent Care.
2. Provides direct patient care and collects physical, psychological, and social patient data under the Nurse's direction.
3. Assists in direct patient care according to the policy and procedures of Urgent Care. This includes but is not limited to: Complete Intake to include vital signs, EKGs, Durable Medical Equipment application, Wound Care, Point of Care Testing, and Ear Irrigations.
4. Is familiar with equipment in the department and the location of all items.
5. Assesses personal and learning development needs. Maintains documentation of current and ongoing professional development activities. Regularly updates knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
6. Orient other UC Techs to the unit as assigned by the manager.
7. Performs other work-related tasks and activities as assigned or requested by the manager.
8. Assist with cleaning and preparation of exam rooms as needed including stocking rooms and organization of incoming supplies.
9. May assist in patient registration, intake, and answering phone calls at the center.
10. Perform other work duties as requested.
11. Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers.
Qualifications
1. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
2. Must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
1. Currently licensed as a CNA in MA with at least one year of patient care experience.
2. Currently licensed as an EMT or Paramedic in MA.
3. Previous experience as a Medical Assistant.
4. Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program OR Healthcare Track program with at least 2 clinical rotations.
5. Has 1-3 years of direct patient care experience within an Urgent Care, Physician’s Office, or Healthcare setting.
3. (BLS) - Current Basic Life Support certification.
Schedule Details: 38 hours per week (76 hours per pp) Rotating Days Mon-Fri 8a-6p. E/O weekend Sat & Sun 8a-4p. Occasional Holidays.
