Job Title: Shipping Supervisor Department: Logistics Location: York, UK Hours Per Week: 37.5 Schedule: Days; 9am- 5pm Monday – Friday SUMMARY The Shipping Supervisor supports the Kit Production & Logistics Manager in maintaining the ACM Global Laboratories (UK) logistics work flow to ensure timely, reliable, and cost effective import and export of Clinical Trial kits and biologic samples for countries served by ACM Global, UK (EMEA, Russia and Asia Pacific regions). RESPONSIBILITIES Management of couriers and logistics suppliers based on capabilities, service offerings, and cost. Maintains portfolio of competitive courier options by country. Maintains a central database of shipping, import/export, customs and license requirements and fees, courier preference, and special considerations for all clinical trial site locations served by ACM Global (UK). Works with the PM team on GLSDs and other proposals to ensure best options and recommendations are presented with a flexible, adaptable, client-focused approach including couriers’ quotations. Ensures all necessary Quality Management System documentation is initiated and completed in a timely manner. Performs all activities related to department Quality Investigations, raising new QI and working with logistics service providers in order to get all necessary details to close investigation. Supports Shipping manager when needed to monitor kits dispatch team and control workflow including financial and other shipping documentation, oversees Clinical Trials Samples Management related activities. Supports courier set-up activities for ASPAC & EMEA regions when required. Coordinate with CTA team to ensure all clients are informed regarding process changes, delays, etc Ensures the department meets internal and external Quality Assurance and Regulatory standards and to takes corrective actions where necessary. The post-holder is responsible for ensuring that all the above processes are performed in accordance with definitive study protocols, The current ICH Guideline for GCP and GDP, Current Health and Safety Legislation and Human Resources policies, Other legislation that is relevant to the responsibilities of the post, Standard Operating Procedures REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 2 years’ experience within shipping/logistics management /coordinator/administrator based roles. Global logistics or courier experience with knowledge of import/export requirements PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS Excellent communication and presentation skills. Computer skills with comprehensive knowledge of Excel. Knowledge of shipping and logistics implications of Brexit preferable. Knowledge of Dangerous Goods Handling and IATA regulations. Understanding of GCP (Good Clinical Practice) Direct vendor/courier management experience, including evaluation, selection, and performance management elements.
