Job summary An exciting opportunity for a fixed-term Trust Doctor post within the Older Persons Unit and Hospital at Homehas arisen. This post is for an ST1-2 trust doctor in Geriatric Medicine depending on previous experience. The post is for a period of 12 months from August to August 2025. Main duties of the job You will work on one of our OPU wards and the Hospital at Home team with their team of geriatric consultants, SHOs, specialist Medical Nurse Practitioners, Physician Associates and therapists. Depending on the situation with the COVID pandemic you may be responsible for patients with COVID or a cohort of COVID contacts. You will be responsible for the regular review and management of the inpatients on your ward or caseload under the supervision of the geriatricians. There will also be opportunity to gain outpatients experience in general or specialist clinics. The post involves working standard days Monday to Friday, with the option of participation in the general medical registrar on-call rota. or with a requirement to work 1:6 weekends (time to be taken back during the week) in the Hospital at Home. Working hours will be 40 across the week working between 08:00 to 18:00. You will be part of the multidisciplinary team arranging ongoing rehabilitation and discharge. You will be expected to have very good communication skills and communicate regularly with the MDT, patients and their relatives.
