We are seeking highly motivated individuals, with an interest in Business Relationship management to join our dynamic team.
This is an exciting time to join the team, an ambitious seven-year DWP Data Strategy was introduced in 2023, and we are working on its implementation, alongside the introduction of a Data Hub & Spoke model. To help support the new operating model we are expanding our business relationship management team.
The team sits within the Chief Data Office and you will be at the heart of the implementation of the Data Strategy, providing a link between the data hub and our business Spokes in using data to deliver citizen services.
As a Senior Business Relationship Manager you will play an integral role in supporting the highest priorities for data in DWP.
You will have the opportunity to work with teams across DWP and across government. You will report to the Head of Data Strategy, and be part of the Business Relationship Job Family.
The Senior Business Relationship Managers (BRMs) play an essential role in reaching out across the organisations business Spokes to build trusted partnerships, to engage directly with senior leaders in identifying strategic priorities, understand business problems, develop high level requirements, assist governance and bring issues to resolution.
The Senior BRMs will create trusted long-term relationships to champion data and drive the development of data products and services provided by the Data Hub.
The Senior BRMs will work throughout the year to influence, innovate, and shape the Data Hub’s work programme ensuring alignment to the Data Strategy and OKR’s, by building an understanding of the Spoke’s strategic priorities. Working with stakeholders as the first point of contact, to promote the Data Hub’s products and services catalogue, signpost to subject matter experts, facilitate conversations and forums to remove blockers whilst managing expectations.
Communication and network building is key to the success of the role within the Data Hub and the Spokes. Senior BRMs are empowered to engage at all levels. Building rapport and having the ability to challenge senior stakeholders is essential. You will need to understand stakeholder, user, customer, supplier and partner needs through continual engagement. The Senior BRMs will lead and share information on engagements with senior stakeholders informing future Digital Data solutions.
You will have an opportunity to develop service management skills that are transferable and valuable to DWP, cross government and wider industry, through on job training, soft skills learning, options to undertake professional qualifications in ITIL 4 Business Relationship Management and many others to help your development.
