Job summary We are looking for a Therapy Practitioner to be a part of our large children's therapy team in Wigan. This is a permanent full time post (37.5 hours) working across Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills with previous experience of working with and communicating effectively with children and young people and clinical experience within a community therapy team setting. Good organisational skills are essential in ensuring effective caseload management. We are hoping to appoint someone who is interested in developing opportunities within the SOS approach to feeding service, is forward thinking, dynamic and can be a leader and key player in improving the outcomes for children and young people in Wigan. You must hold NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care. We are unable to accept the certificates provided by short online courses as these are not NVQs. Main duties of the job In this role, you will support Occupational Therapists in providing assessment and treatment for children experiencing difficulties with everyday functional skills due to a physical, motor, feeding or sensory based need. There may be further scope in this role within the SOS approach to feeding as this aspect of the service may develop/evolve in the future and look to expand and explore available opportunities. This role involves holding responsibility for a designated caseload within the Occupational Therapy service, at times working without direct supervision from the Occupational Therapist and taking responsibility for delegated tasks. Support will be required by the Occupational Therapist to prepare for all required assessments and treatments.
