Job Description Manufacturing Engineer Full-time Derby What you will be doing. An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join the Assembly & Test and Controls business based in the Civil Large engine build facility in Derby at an exciting time, as a Manufacturing Engineer. The business is currently delivering multiple new product introduction programmes and engaging with future programs whilst increasing production volumes across all areas to meet future demand. You will provide technical support to operations and execute Manufacturing Engineering activities to develop, maintain and continuously improve manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture, which are capable of meeting and continuing to meet business and customer requirements for safety, quality, cost, deliver rate and lead time. Responsibilities In this role, you will: Ensure manufacturing processes are fully compliant with Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, maintaining a safe and sustainable working environment. Promote a culture of zero defects and ensure that digital systems are developed and deployed to support Right First-Time manufacturing, guaranteeing product quality and conformity. Ensure full compliance with all relevant company, legislative, and technical policies and standards, including Export Control, Intellectual Property, and Cyber Security requirements. Manage, develop, and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as Design organisation, cross functional manufacturing teams, joint ventures, risk and revenue-sharing partners, and designated suppliers to support manufacturing engineering objectives. Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing new or enhanced manufacturing processes, digital systems, and technologies, while maintaining strict process controls and ensuring optimal resource management. Deliver the manufacturing method for engine assembly ensuring compliance to design and quality requirements. Work across functions to ensure good design for assembly and rate capable processes are delivered for flight compliance and production engines across the product family. Technical authority for the flight test instrumentation method, ensuring that flight compliance engines conform to the engineering definition. Why Rolls-Royce? Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes relevant to our business and the ability to apply this expertise to drive operational efficiency. Proficiency with manufacturing systems such as CAD, CAM, CAPP, MES, SAP, and technical documentation, with the ability to optimize production processes using these tools. Hands-on experience with zero-defect work packages, including 8D problem-solving, Solve-It sheets, and root cause analysis to drive quality and process improvements.
