They are seeking an experienced and passionate Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to join their dedicated team in a full-time, permanent capacity starting this September. Position Summary The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that students with special educational needs receive the support and resources they require to thrive academically and personally. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young people and their families. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the school's Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision. Develop and implement effective SEN policies and procedures in line with current legislation and best practices. Oversee the assessment and identification of students with SEN, ensuring timely and appropriate interventions. Collaborate with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs). Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision, making recommendations for improvement as needed. Provide training and support to staff on SEN-related matters. Qualifications & Experience: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification. National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to work towards it. Significant experience working with students with a range of special educational needs. In-depth knowledge of SEN legislation and best practices. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
