This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Site Manager to join the regional office of a busy Tier 1 main contractor to work on a new build SEND primary school project in Sholing, Southampton. The scheme is currently in preconstruction and will start in the summer, with some survey and then enabling works to be undertaken beforehand.
Responsibilities:
1. Managing all site-based construction activities
2. Management of trade sub-contractors
3. Health and safety oversight
4. Review of method statements and risk assessments
5. Logistics and quality control
6. Client liaison and coordination meetings
7. Short-term programming of work
8. Reporting on progress against program
9. Issue resolution, snagging, and handover
About the Company:
The contractor is a busy national contractor with a £70-80m annual turnover in the region, and a proven track record in the delivery of new build and refurbishment schemes in the leisure, education, scientific, defence, local authority, retirement living and blue light sectors.
They have an excellent reputation for quality, safety, staff retention, development and promotion, plus client engagement and undertaking repeat works for key clients. Typical patch covers Wiltshire, Hampshire and Dorset.
Requirements:
1. 5 years + of experience as an Assistant to Site Manager
2. Highly motivated and proactive
3. Good technical, organisational, man-management, and communication skills
4. Proven track record of work for a Tier 1 or 2 main contractor advantageous
5. Background in construction management, engineering or trades
6. Possession of SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
7. Experience in the Site Management role with a proven track record of successful project delivery
