The Role
Bottomline is looking for a Data Engineering Manager to grow with us either remotely or in a Hybrid work environment out of our Theale, UK office!
As the Data Engineering Manager, you will oversee the design, development, and maintenance of our Enterprise Data Warehouse infrastructure. You will be responsible for managing the construction of data pipelines, constructing data rich subject areas, and ensuring the delivery of insightful reports built in Microsoft PowerBI. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a collaborative environment, driving best practices, and ensuring the successful execution of our data initiatives.
How you’ll contribute:
1. Lead, manage, and grow a team of Data and Information Engineers in the development and optimization of a Snowflake-based Data Warehouse.
2. Oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of data pipelines using Talend to ensure efficient data flow and storage.
3. Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and develop reporting solutions in Microsoft PowerBI.
4. Implement best practices for data governance, quality, and security throughout the data lifecycle.
5. Mentor and develop team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
6. Monitor project progress, manage timelines, and ensure the timely delivery of data solutions.
7. Stay updated with industry trends and technologies to drive innovation and improve data engineering practices.
What will make you successful:
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Previous experience managing a Data Warehouse/Data Engineering Team in a corporate environment.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in data warehouse management and data engineering.
4. Proven experience with Snowflake, Talend, as well as proficiency in Microsoft PowerBI.
5. Familiarity with data regulations and laws such as GDPR.
6. Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data governance principles.
7. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and nurturing high-performing teams.
8. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
9. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
