Hills Waste Solutions have an opportunity available for a General Operative to join our team based in Northacre Resource Recovery Centre (NRRC) in Westbury. About the role: As our General Operative, reporting to the shift supervisor, you will ensure that the site is maintained in a clean and tidy condition and to assist with the day-to-day running of the facility. Your key responsibilities as our General Operative will include: Assist in the operation of the MBT facility within designed parameters along with the control of both incoming waste streams and outgoing products. Carry out first line maintenance including cleaning of the plant as required. Provide cover for the shift team and deputise for Warehouse Operatives and Shift Utility Operatives as required. Ensure that all site records are completed as required. Undertake other duties as reasonable assigned by the Shift Supervisor. Normal hours are based on a 40-hour week, from Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be required to work 8.5-hour shifts Monday to Friday and alternate Saturday mornings. Shift one Monday - Friday 06:00 to14:30 plus 06:00 to 12:00 Saturday Shift two Monday - Friday 13:30 to 22:00 What we’re looking for in our General Operative: Previous experience working within a process-based manufacturing environment. IT literate. Awareness of health and safety and environmental issues. Previous experience of operating forklift trucks and/or telehandlers would be an advantage.
