Job Title: Design Engineer - Product Development Department
Location: Alfreton
Hours: Monday-Friday (8.00am-4.30pm)
Salary: Up to £30,000 DOE
Holidays: 31 days
Background required: Competent user of SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD 3D, with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel. All other aspects of the role can be trained.
Overview:
We now require a Design Engineer to join the team. You will be tasked with modifying the company's vast range of bespoke products as part of the design team, working closely with other internal manufacturing departments and external customers.
The ideal Design Engineer will have as many of the following in order to strengthen application:
* Good working knowledge and experience in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD
* A good working knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel
* Good knowledge of general engineering principles
* Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to produce accurate engineering/production drawings
* Self-motivated - must be able to self-manage and take control of workload
Brief overview of duties:
* The design and costing of variations of our standard products to suit customer requirements
* Liaison with suppliers and customers
* The creation of manufacturing and detail drawings
* Overseeing alterations/modifications to existing products
* The involvement in creating new and improving existing manufacturing processes
* The design and project management of new products
* Overseeing the testing of new products
* Programming of CAM software (training will be given)
