Job Description Position: Head of Design Our esteemed client, a leading Construction Company in Northern Ireland with over 50 years of experience in crafting luxurious interior spaces across prime residential, luxury hotels, commercial, and marine sectors, is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to take on the crucial role of Head of Design. This position has emerged due to the company's continued growth and recent successes in securing new contracts. The successful candidate will be based in the company's offices and joinery manufacturing facilities in Antrim. Role Overview: The appointed Head of Design will spearhead the company's design team, ensuring a comprehensive design capability that spans from estimation to site installation. This role involves ensuring projects are delivered within budget, on schedule, and in accordance with the client's specifications. The ideal candidate will oversee all design aspects across various projects, emphasizing best practices, value addition, buildability enhancement, and commercial success maximization. A significant part of this role involves leading digital construction initiatives, driving continual improvement, and fostering innovation within the team. Key Qualifications and Experience: A tertiary level qualification in a building, construction, or architectural discipline. A robust portfolio showcasing extensive experience in managing construction projects, including design aspects. Thorough knowledge of design processes and methodologies. Proven leadership and people management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple projects, solve complex problems, and deliver tangible results. Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and internal teams. Desirable Skills: Experience in fit-out projects. Familiarity with BIM processes, joinery, design software, and building regulations. Additional Requirements: Willingness to travel for client meetings and site visits.
