External Partner Engagement Specialist
Salary: National ranging from £41,800 to £48,800 and London £46,000 to £53,000 per annum – Salary offered will be based on skills and experience

The team/department
The Specialist Intelligence Department (SID) is at the heart of the FCA’s efforts to prevent harm and are a central function to many areas within the FCA and with our external partner collaboration. We support all areas of the FCA with insight and information to help deliver the FCA’s objectives and agenda – especially around reducing and preventing serious harm. We work with a range of UK and overseas partners as part of an eco-system to tackle issues such as Fraud and Money Laundering which require a joined-up approach from regulators; business; government and the public. Staff in SID come from a wide range of backgrounds and have a variety of specialist skills and techniques. The work is hugely varied and fast paced and offers opportunities to be at the forefront of change.
The Partners & Insight (P&I) team within SID is a key team responsible for directing, co-ordinating and supporting FCA and partner work to detect, address and reduce economic crime. A crucial element of the P&I team is engaging with key partners (such as the National Economic Crime Centre (NECC), law enforcement and public bodies) to further the UK Economic Crime Plan, Fraud Strategy and the FCA’s Financial Crime Public Commitment.
What you will be doing (the role)
* Supporting the development and delivery of the FCA’s external Economic Crime engagements with external partners (public and private) and key stakeholders by proactively establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships.
* Managing operational and tactical interactions with external partners including triaging, drafting, and tracking the process and delivery of case referrals, deconfliction of activities and facilitating data and intelligence sharing.
* Maximising value by proactively identifying and prioritising opportunities for joint working with external partners to join the dots and consider additional intelligence leads and opportunities for collaboration.
* Providing input and/or leading on internal updates, briefings to seniors, liaison with multi-agency threat groups and input to organisational and national threat assessments (such as those undertaken by the National Assessment Centre).
* Establishing, developing, and maintaining strategic relationships between internal FCA stakeholders to spot opportunities to increase inter-departmental collaboration and streamline more effective input into wider cross FCA and government economic crime priorities.
* Contributing, as needed, towards delivering the wider FCA Financial Crime Public Commitment and Fraud strategy.

The skills and experience you will have
Minimum
* Demonstrable experience of working within the UK’s Economic Crime landscape (in particular the Economic Crime Plan, fraud and money laundering) demonstrated through regulatory, law enforcement or policy experience.
* Demonstrable stakeholder management skills and experience demonstrating credibility when engaging with all levels and seniority within law enforcement, government, and regulatory environments.
* Excellent written communication skills with experience of report/assessment writing and briefing stakeholders.
Essential
* Proven ability to influence internal and external stakeholders to promote information sharing and operational support.
* Experience of working collaboratively as part of a team, valuing different perspectives and backgrounds, and working with other departments and divisions to minimise silos.
* Demonstrable experience of representing your organisation's interests to and managing relations with external stakeholders. This may include advocating the FCA, EMO and the FCA mission, operating for the benefit of consumers.
* Ability to prioritise and manage competing demands and meet challenging deadlines to deliver desired outcomes.
* Intellectual curiosity and analytical capabilities to analyse intelligence and distil key insights from it.
* Understanding of the UK approach to tackling economic crime, particularly the whole system approach covering the network of departments, agencies and initiatives engaged in economic crime issues (UK and overseas).
* Proficiency in using Microsoft applications.
* Proficiency in identifying, storing, sharing, handling and using information and/or intelligence (including sensitive intelligence) effectively and securely, including managing records systems, tools and confidentiality.
