Are you looking for a challenging and fulfilling opportunity as a children's Physiotherapist with a special interest in musculo-skeletal cases working in a supportive community team? Then this may be perfect for you.
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic paediatric physiotherapist to help lead our musculo-skeletal service for children aged 0-12 years. You will be based at the Phoenix Children's Resource Centre in Bromley and be part of a dynamic, friendly physiotherapy and multi-disciplinary team. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills as an MSK lead and as a children's physiotherapist, seeing children and young people with a wide variety of conditions within various settings including schools, homes, and as outpatients. Experience and further professional development in working with children with musculo-skeletal problems is required.
There are regular staff meetings and in-service training days, as well as appraisals and clinical supervision in place. We encourage staff to access CPD and training and networking opportunities.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Provide a high standard of physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and advice to children and young people, carers, and families.
2. Undertake the lead role in the assessment, diagnosis, and formulation of physiotherapy treatment plans for children 0-12 years with musculo-skeletal cases.
3. Be the physiotherapy lead within the multi-disciplinary team, providing specialist advice to other health professionals.
4. Provide supervision and education to band 6 physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants, colleagues, and physiotherapy students.
5. Provide clinical supervision and act as a source of specialist advice to other physiotherapists.
6. Provide annual appraisals to those in your line management.
7. Work with the head of service ensuring clinical governance.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Diploma or Degree in physiotherapy recognized by HCPC.
* Registered with HCPC.
* Evidence of CPD to a high level of clinical expertise in chosen paediatric area (MSK).
* Understanding of hydrotherapy treatment.
* Member of APCP.
* Post Graduate courses relevant to paediatric specialty.
Experience
* Post registration experience in the field of paediatrics, with appropriate MSK experience.
* Experience at a band 6 level or equivalent.
* Experience working with a paediatric MSK caseload.
* Experience with children who have challenging behaviours.
* Experience and sound understanding of working with children’s safeguarding procedures.
Skills
* Able to deal with parents and other professionals who have anxieties and concerns.
* Ability to time manage, prioritize, delegate, and organize.
* Ability to provide professional/clinical leadership.
