Responsibilities:
1. Engaging Lessons: Deliver dynamic and interactive Design and Technology lessons with a focus on Graphics, catering to students of varying abilities from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5.
2. Creative Teaching: Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that promote student engagement and achievement in Graphics.
3. Supportive Environment: Create an inclusive learning atmosphere that encourages students to reach their full potential in both practical and theoretical aspects of Graphics.
4. Assessment & Feedback: Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
5. Collaborative Curriculum Design: Work with colleagues to design and deliver an inspiring Graphics curriculum that aligns with national standards and the school's educational objectives.
6. Community Building: Establish strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering a positive and collaborative learning community.
Requirements:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Or equivalent certification.
2. Specialism in Graphics: A degree in Design and Technology or a related field, with a strong focus on Graphics.
3. Experience: Proven experience teaching Design and Technology, particularly Resistant Materials, at the secondary level, preferably within a mainstream school.
4. Enhanced DBS: Must have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
5. Curriculum Knowledge: A thorough understanding of the UK national curriculum and assessment frameworks.
6. Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to inspire and motivate students.
7. Passion for Woodwork: A genuine love for the subject and the ability to ignite that passion in students.
8. Professional Development: A commitment to continuous professional growth and staying updated with the latest educational practices.
