Your Role and What You'll Be Doing
Our Team
Our purpose in the Business Performance Team is to create an integrated and holistic understanding of the full commercial landscape considering client, market, finance, operations and people. We're the bridge between the operational functions, the people and the data in order to enable more grounded business decisions to be made and to ensure that our legal Business Units have the right strategic and operational execution plans in place to deliver our wider business strategy.
We also monitor business performance, and make recommendations which influence strategic direction, which drive improvements in our business and its trading outcomes and which improve the experience of our clients and our colleagues.
Your Role
As a Business Performance Executive, you'll play an integral role in the Business Performance Team, supporting the Business Managers and the legal Business Units across Client Services to continually transform the business and how we operate. You'll join a fast-paced and delivery focused team, with exposure to a wide range of stakeholders and operational functions.
You will be responsible for the leadership, execution and delivery of key projects and actions which underpin the financial, business development, operational and people plans for the legal teams, supporting stakeholders at all levels to deliver and embed key initiatives that will drive performance improvements.
What You'll Be Doing
1. Operate as an integral member of the Business Performance team, working with Business Unit leadership teams and stakeholders at all levels to drive understanding and delivery of key performance indicators and outcomes.
2. Support Business Managers and Client Services through cyclical annual business planning activity across all strategic pillars to ensure activity is delivered in a timely manner and meets our strategic goals.
3. Work closely with stakeholders at all levels and across the business matrix to consistently monitor, track and update on performance.
4. Identify, communicate and where necessary escalate risks to performance and delivery.
5. Identify and understand thematic financial, resource and operational trends, risks and opportunities through regular performance analysis.
6. Identify areas to reduce costs and improve our people and process efficiencies.
7. Lead and support delivery of key business initiatives and projects, working closely with the Business Manager, Legal teams, Finance, HR, Business Development and Marketing to prepare business recommendations which maximise performance, productivity, efficiency and service delivery.
8. Champion the use of analysis and data led approaches to ensure robust business performance monitoring.
9. Lead on our Business Performance communications and reporting, working closely with Corporate Services functions and the Data/Analytics teams to support the transition and automation of regular reporting to drive our business efficiencies.
10. Work with stakeholders across the business to drive a culture of compliance, best practice and operational excellence, monitoring performance and implementing action plans.
11. Develop and demonstrate strong understanding of the Business Units' services, processes and practices to establish role as a trusted advisor to the Client Services teams.
12. Play a key role in Business Performance and Business Unit meetings, working alongside the Business Managers and senior leadership teams to update on performance and deliver on activity to drive improvements as required.
13. Build strong relationships across IM to develop understanding of the business areas and deliver performance improvement initiatives.
14. Act as a bridge to connect individuals across Legal teams and Corporate services to ensure efficient delivery and communication of initiatives and queries.
15. Champion the experience of our colleagues and makes IM a great place to work by supporting GPTW activity and action planning.
About You

3. Confident handling different types of data, ideally with experience in analysing business processes and financial modelling.
4. Strong planning and organisation skills, including the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously and prioritise work accordingly.
5. Experience of operating in a complex matrix structure model - building relationships across a range of stakeholder groups.
6. Experience of operating within large scale operational service delivery businesses.
7. Commercial acumen and financial understanding - with ability to evidence delivering targets by monitoring and management of commercial drivers and key performance indicators.
8. Strong Analytical skills with ability to evidence strong skills in analysis driving insight and action.
9. Evidence ability to review, propose and improve processes and ways of working to improve commercial outcomes.
10. Evidence of challenging the business 'norms' and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in financial/operational plans, processes and models.
11. Operational excellence focus - drive for service excellence, process and people efficiency.
12. Ability to act as a commercial representative, communicating effectively and professionally across all levels of the business.
13. Experience of successfully dealing with all levels of internal stakeholders.
14. Excellent organisational and project management skills.
