As part of our Commercial division, we have a team who design and transform existing houses/buildings into more energy efficient, sustainable, and functional spaces using Wienerberger products and solutions. As a Retrofit Designer you will play a key part helping us to develop innovative retrofit design concepts that enhance energy efficiency, sustainability, and occupant comfort. It's advantageous if you already have experience in retrofit assessments, but if not, you will be trained in the field of conducting assessments of existing buildings to identify opportunities for retrofitting and to improve energy efficiency. You will then be involved in analysing building systems, components, and operations to evaluate their condition, efficiency, and potential for upgrade. Then producing recommendations which will inform retrofit design and implementation strategies. Once fully trained your duties are varied and include: Ensuring accurate design and compliance with PAS 2035:2019 Producing multiple technical details and retrofit drawings Project delivery against objectives and targets Develop innovative retrofit solutions that meet project objectives, budgets and regulations Collaborating with clients to define project goals, requirements, and constraints Analysing our products and systems to determine their suitability for the retrofit market This is a field-based position and therefore we provide a company car/allowance. You will be expected to travel frequently across the region (UK & Ireland) and to our Head Office (Cheadle) for meetings. We are flexible on your home location but ideally you will be in a location central to the UK to help facilitate nationwide travel easily. Hours of Work: 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday About You You will be experienced in a retrofit designer role with exposure to energy/building assessments in the residential housing market. You will have a keen interest in developing your skillset further to incorporate retrofit assessments in the field. You will have a full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the region very regularly. You will also have: Strong communication (written and verbal) Flexibility to adapt to varied priorities and project deadlines Proficiency of using Revit (or Archicad) Ideally you will have formal training (e.g., relevant courses or qualifications) in these areas, or strong equivalent experience in the sector.
