Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen within the pharmacy department to appoint a Senior Pharmacy Technician for Quality Assurance (QA). The post holder will be responsible for overseeing, co-ordinating and delivering a QA service to the pharmacy production unit and wider pharmacy service. The post holder will work closely with the pharmacy production team to ensure that the production unit is meeting the Good Manufacturing Practice requirements of a service working under a Section 10 exemption. Main duties of the job A flavour of your day to day You will plan and implement a safe and effective pharmacy quality assurance service. Examining, recording and acting upon the results of operator validation tests and environmental monitoring tests. Recording activity within the production unit to national databases. Completing temperature monitoring of medicine storage locations. Responding to medication alerts and recalls issued by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). Assessing unlicensed and imported medications for suitability to use. Preparing, reviewing and updating departmental policies and procedures. Developing and maintaining the pharmacy department electronic document management system. Participating in technician checking slots within the dispensary on a rostered basis.
