As a Facilities and Maintenance Engineer you will maintain all plant and machinery (including internal office fixture and
fittings) including preventative maintenance and reactive work.
As part of your key responsibilities you’ll:
* Ensure all works are completed in accordance with H&S policies / procedures
* Assist / support the supervision of sub-contractors for Facilities and Property Department
* Understand and work with Planet (work control) system, ensuring work/job sheets are completed within agreed timescales
* Complete works to meet departmental targets, SLA’s & KPI’s
* Collaborate with line-manager / team to deliver best practices and develop cost reduction / efficiency improvement initiatives
* Liaise with all TCE customers to ensure support and requirements are delivered to agreed timescales / standards (Conference
Centre / functions)
* Utilise your basic understanding of following systems to carry out the tasks required: Fire alarms (including weekly testing)
BMS system (re controls / temperature setting & adjustments). Mains & local electrical feeds / electrical plant room (Fault
finding on electrical and mechanical plant following logical steps to resolve the issue when under pressure) HVAC systems
within Unipart house and its controls. Fire suppression/gas systems. Site drainage systems and Water schematics / systems
* Support ad-hoc projects as required
About You
We’d love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think you’d be able to perform well in this
role!
* Technically highly skilled in both mechanical and electrical functions - 18th Edition, but training offered if 17th Edition
* Driving Licence
* Experience of mechanical and electrical plants
* Experience in a similar role
* Educated to GCSE or equivalent (English language and Mathematics are essential)
* Ability to work to targets and timescales
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* Eye for detail
* Quality focused
* Mechanical competence
* Self-motivated and be able to demonstrate a “get up and go” attitude
* Excellent communication skills, including effective listening and an ability to liaise with varying levels of technical staff
and customers
* Good organisational skills
* The ability to work independently and contribute effectively as a member of a high-performance team
* Able to use initiative and identify issues at work and suggest options for improvement
* Willingness to learn
