Our client, a leading entity in the Highways sector, is seeking a dedicated Quantity Surveyor to join their Highways team in Essex. This is a permanent role that promises professional growth and dynamic project involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing cost control procedures including financial planning, estimating, budgeting, and cost reporting
2. Administering NEC contracts to ensure compliance and successful project delivery
3. Preparing and analysing costings for tenders and contracts
4. Conducting risk and value management and cost control
5. Advising on procurement strategy and identifying potential improvements
6. Monitoring project costs and reporting any variances to senior management
7. Collaborating with site managers, clients, contractors, and design teams
8. Providing accurate forecasting and managing project budgets effectively
Job Requirements:
1. Significant experience in quantity surveying, ideally within the highways sector
2. Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and their administration
3. Experience in civil engineering projects, with an understanding of heavy civils being beneficial
4. Excellent numerical and analytical skills
5. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
6. Proficiency in cost management software and financial reporting
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
8. Relevant qualification in quantity surveying or a related field
