To support the QE Transport management team in all aspects of the transport operation. Supervising a small, but dedicated team, serving routes within Yorkshire and the North of England.
To provide a high-quality, cost-effective transportation service in line with QE Facilities requirements in a manner that conforms with all legal legislation and company policies, ensuring that all department requirements are taken into consideration without being detrimental to the overall network requirements.
The Transport Supervisor will be required to cover for driver's holidays, absence etc.
Main duties of the job
1. Management of all front-line staff within the transport department at Morley.
2. Management of all day-to-day working within the department; planning routes, ensuring a timely service is provided to a high standard, managing local fleet and managing the department's workload.
3. Manage the correct use of Health and Safety within the department.
Job responsibilities
1. To ensure all deliveries and collections are made on time and in compliance with current procedures.
2. To ensure all assets are recorded in line with laid down procedure.
3. To ensure all company resources are available on time and all delays are reported.
4. To monitor performance of all staff and prepare reports as per company policy.
5. To carry out regular meetings with staff to ensure flow of communication.
6. To assist in the recruitment of drivers within the agreed establishment levels.
7. To ensure all driving and related staff comply with the legal requirements.
8. To ensure that all vehicles are maintained in line with current operator licence and company requirements.
9. To monitor and carry out performance reviews with subcontractors.
10. To encourage and assist in the development of each member of staff.
11. To ensure all staff comply with company Health and Safety policy.
12. To carry out disciplinary hearings in line with company policy.
13. To ensure all administration aspects for transport staff in the department are up to date.
14. To ensure all driving staff comply with drivers regulation by use of contracted systems.
15. To ensure a uniform policy is adhered to.
16. To ensure compliance with ISO accreditation.
17. To report all accidents and carry out all follow up action.
18. To assist in the development of the transport department by maintaining high standards.
19. To assist in the control of van fleet within the depot.
20. To ensure all defects are raised and cleared in an effective manner.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Categories C1 & D1 on driving licence
* Customer Services NVQ
* Basic Vehicle Maintenance
* First Aid
Experience
* Working knowledge of vehicle and drivers' regulation
Knowledge
* Excellent communication skills both written and oral.

* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
* Able to influence and sell in ideas at all levels.
