Job overview
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Healthcare Assistants to support Forest ward-rehabilitation ward.
The ward is busy 24 bedded and you will need to be able to work under pressure at times. You will work with an experienced nursing team on forest ward alongside registered nurses and health care assistants and therapy staff to deliver patient care.
Main duties of the job
1. Promote a 'Can do' attitude within the team, focusing on rehabilitation.
2. Focusing on promoting and enhancing the health well being of patients.
3. Promote and improve the patient journey.
4. Empower patients and promote patient shared/self care where appropriate focusing on the patients rehab goals while aiming for discharge destination.
5. To carry out a range of non-clinical healthcare tasks, under the direct supervision of the registered healthcare practitioner.
6. Provide compassionate care, to agreed quality standards and in accordance with Trust values.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. Effective and appropriate communication skills both written and verbal.
2. Ability to complete appropriate documentation accurately.
3. IT skills, basic word, Email, keyboard skills.
4. Manual handling is part of the role and training will be provided.
5. Be able to work as a member of a team.
6. Understands and committed to a caring approach to patients & relatives.
7. Ability and willingness to undertake appropriate training within given time frames.
Qualifications - Academic / Craft / Professional experience
1. Experience of working with older people in NHS setting/ or equivalent.
2. Team working of nursing in older person’s rehabilitation +/ community nursing of working in the NHS.
Knowledge
1. Understands role and expectations.
2. Insight into effects of ageing.
3. Understanding of rehabilitation.
Contractual requirements
1. Flexibility to work early, late and night shifts as per the service needs.
Skills
1. Effective written and verbal communication.
2. Basic IT skills.
3. Basic observations, skills i.e. Temperature, Pulse, BP.
4. Ability to support individuals with life limiting conditions.
5. Good time and personal management skills.
6. The ability to work under pressure.
