The Role: Carer Wellbeing Facilitator, Caregivers Connected Gateshead
Salary: Band 1b
Starting Salary £22,565 rising to £23,080 following successful 6-month probation period.
Hours: 35 hours per week (two vacancies)

Carers Federation Ltd is a national charity and company limited by guarantee established in 1992 to empower and support unpaid carers, the people for whom they care for and the wider community. The charity is managed by a Board of Trustees elected by our membership.
Carers Federation has successfully been awarded a 3-year contract by Gateshead Council and North East and Cumbria ICB. The service is a new dynamic service providing support to all age Caregivers living in Gateshead. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidates to join Carers Federation, Caregivers Connected team and shape the service into a bespoke and engaging service for all Caregivers in Gateshead.
Job Role
Carers Federation are looking for individuals who are dynamic, motivated, and committed to being a Wellbeing Facilitator to work across the community of Gateshead. The successful applicants will:
1. Help identify and support adults who are caring for a relative, friend or neighbour.
2. Provide information, guidance, and advice to support unpaid carers.
3. Facilitate and deliver carers groups across Gateshead.
4. Identify Caregivers from hard-to-reach communities (Jewish community, BAME community etc.).
5. Demonstrate an understanding of unpaid carers needs and link in with the Care Act 2014 and Gateshead Council’s Gateshead Adult Caregivers Strategy.
6. Show confidence in supporting unpaid caregivers with the diverse issues that can affect their lives.
7. Support unpaid Caregivers to reduce loneliness and isolation.
8. Complete Statutory eCarer Assessments, and connect unpaid Caregivers to relevant support services/organisations.
9. Build strong working relationships with GP Practices, Health & Social Care and establish links with other relevant professionals throughout the community.
10. Respond to and be resilient to change.
11. Work with and use a variety of IT systems.
Office based, Aidan House, 401 Sunderland Road NE8 3HU with the ability to travel in and around Gateshead with home working options available after training.
To be considered for the post, you will need to have well-developed listening and communication skills, an understanding of caregiver’s issues, the ability to manage your own workload and be a good team player. Office based in Gateshead with the ability to travel in and around Gateshead. Some home working after completion of probation.
