National Express are recruiting an experienced Driver Training Officer to join our team. Based in Aston, the successful candidate will train relevant local skills to new trainee drivers and existing drivers at garage level ensuring competency is achieved and maintained.
What you'll do:
1. Work in-line with the training department delivering Core/local skills required under the competency management system.
2. Act as a lead figure in the successful delivery of local skills driving assessments relating to the CMS implemented at Depot.
3. Demonstrate effective oversight of driver performance, and continuously ensure effective management of drivers and their performance is being applied.
4. Contribute to delivering service reliability and quality defined standards to internal/external customers ensuring improvements are monitored as and when required.
5. Delivery of all relevant internal audit processes, ensuring best practice on all standards and recording of outcomes and actions.
6. Work closely with Administration to ensure local procedures are adhered to in relation to all on-site training records.
7. Work to implement the company’s policies and procedures. Flexible and adaptable to all tasks undertaken.
8. Act as a lead figure in the successful delivery of local skills and carry out unbiased assessments relating to the national occupational standards for candidates on sector NVQ qualifications.
9. Maintaining and developing relationships with new trainee drivers/existing drivers and management.
10. Work with training department to support candidates in the successful completion of sector qualifications aligned to the business requirements.
11. Maintain individual CPC periodic training status.
What you'll need:
1. Excellent face-to-face communication.
2. Flexible approach to working hours, including early mornings, late nights and weekends as required.
3. Flexible approach to travelling within the Midlands.
4. A good standard of computer literacy.
5. Ideally experience in using Traffilog, EP Morris, Horizons and Grampian software.
6. PCV Licence and a relevant Assessors award.
7. Hold RoSPA qualification or attended relevant assessment training course.
8. Good understanding the data protection act appertaining to on board CCTV footage.
